Cindy Xiong is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Department of Psychology at Northwestern University and will be an Assistant Professor at the College of Information and Computer Sciences at UMass Amherst starting Sept 2021. Her research program, at the intersection of human perception, cognition, and data visualization, aims to model how humans perceive, interpret, and make decisions from visualized data, and deliver design guidelines that will make data visualizations more accessible for a general audience. She is also one of the founding leaders of VISxVISION (visxvision.com), a partnership dedicated to increasing collaboration among visualization researchers and perceptual + cognitive psychologists.
