Won Mok Shim is an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU). She received her BA in psychology from Yonsei University and PhD in experimental/cognitive psychology from Harvard University. She was a post-doctoral fellow in the Dept. of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT. During 2010-2016, she was an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Dartmouth College. Her research interests focus on how the brain represents and processes a range of perceptual and cognitive information -– from low-level sensory features to high-level contexts and predictions – in the process of constructing our internal model of the external world.
