I’m Rahele Kafieh, an assistant professor in Engineering Department at Durham University, Durham, United Kingdom. My research is concentrated on biomedical image analysis with more emphasis on ocular data. Form theoretical point of view, I like working on deep learning, graph based image analysis, and time-frequency methods, with purpose of segmentation, restoration and classification of medical data.

I was a Research Associate, at the Institute of Biosciences, at Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom from 2021 to 2022, where my research was focused on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in detection of neurological diseases from the eye.

I was an Assistant Professor at School of Advanced Technologies in Medicine, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Isfahan, Iran, from 2015 to 2021 and a guest researcher at Neurocure Clinical Research Center, Charite University, Berlin, Germany in 2018 and 2019.
